Vocabulary Builder
The new and improved Vocabulary Builder can be found in software versions 5.06 of Vantage Plus, Vantage Lite, Vanguard and in ECO 2.07. Vocabulary Builder is a powerful tool that allows you to teach a small set of vocabulary within the context of a robust Unity vocabulary system. It makes teaching and learning sequenced Unity more manageable. Vocabulary Builder works by reducing the number of visible words so that only those needed for a specific activity, conversation, or category of language can be targeted at a time. This strategy of masking vocabulary allows you to focus on a small number of words while supporting the development of motor planning for those words. When the child masters the set of words, you will add or unmask more words to continue building language skills. This process of exposing children to language in "chunks" is similar to how typically-developing children learn language.

SpringBoard Unity 32
In your SpringBoard Unity 32 go to the Pages Page. You will see there a key for BOOKS, and a key for TEACHING CORE.
The page of books shows simple stories using core words. You will also see the icons for these core words without any of the other icons showing.
The page of Teaching Core gives practice using core words with a selected few icons showing on the pages.
Vantage Lite and ECO
The Unity areas in Vantage Lite all have a Pages Page. On each Pages page there are links to MY BOOKS and TEACH CORE. The illustration below is from Unity 60 1-Hit.
MY BOOKS, links to stories that are illustrated and have just the icons that you need for reading the story. TEACH CORE links to pages that have been simplified so that you don't see all the icons. You can practice saying action words, feelings, and colors.
In the Unity Sequenced areas you can find visual scene pages for teaching icon associations.
Go to the Pages Page, then My Scenes, and then choose an icon.
Also in Unity Sequenced there are pages that teach parts of speech. You can practice action words, interjections, prepositions, adjectives, and colors. Go to the Pages Page, then TEACH CORE INTERNAL to find this page.
Use the Icon Tutor to find the sequences for vocabulary words stored in your device. Go to the Device Tools activity row to see the Icon Tutor.
