Reference Charts

The "Stages" that form the foundation of the AAC Language Lab are a compilation of information on language development gathered from a vast number of resources, and organized in single charts of teachable segments, called Stages. Because the acquisition of new language skills is variable, it is not unusual to find skill development overlapping the stage divisions. The Stages charts can provide a general scaffold for teaching language, but should not be interpreted rigidly.

The resources used in developing the Stages charts can be found on the References page.
